April 2007 News

Klint & Mary's April Family News

What a beautiful spring!

So how did you all enjoy General Conference?! Wasn't it wonderful? We had a slumber party Friday night at our friend’s house with Bryce (who is Bri’s cousin & Klint’s best friend) & his wife Beth and Scott (who is Bryce’s brother) & Tasia (who just got engaged this month) and other friends. Then we all watched Conference together Saturday morning. The talk by Elder Holland really hit me! Also Elder Oaks talk on Divorce was good (not the divorce part, but the part saying how to treat your spouse and work through problems etc.) Anyway, it was so nice to just relax with my baby and the friends! The boys went golfing in between Conference. Sunday was such a great day. After conference Klint made me fajitas then took me on a walk up in the mountains above Pleasant Grove- a good two hour walk nice view of the Timpanogas temple. What a much needed refreshing and relaxing weekend. Conference is so wonderful. I hope you were able to watch it and enjoy it and relax!

Easter was also another amazing day! I was really emotional that at church we had wonderful talks in Sacrament Meeting and then in Relief Society we had a real Spiritual lesson on the Atonement. So while Klint was cooking me our Easter Sunday dinner I re-listened to/ watched Elder Holland's conference talk on "Tongue of Angels" and I cried through it! I hit me the first time I watched, but re-watching it where I could pay attention better it really got to me and I cried. It made me realize that I need to speak better to Klint especially, and to be a more positive cheerful person. Oh what a great talk! Then Easter night we went over to Bryce’s parent’s house and watched “The Testaments” which made me cry yet again!

Klint wanted to have a ridiculous date so we went to eat at this Podunk place in Lindon called "Ma & Pa's Cafe", followed by shopping for junk at the Dollar Store, and finishing up with a bang going to NICKELCADE ha ha! We actually had lots of fun- I've never been there before. (If you haven’t heard of it it’s a big arcade in Orem with tons of arcade games/video games, skeet ball, etc but they only cost 5 cents each so you can play lots of games!) But we won 1,020 tickets, and that's after getting some stolen! So we got ourselves some fun prizes he he! But it was fun we stayed there for almost 3 hours!

We have a bunch of concerts coming up in May: Morrissey then Bjork (which we’re going to San Francisco to see), and then Deftones in June. As well as our usual “Another Statistic” concerts in Provo and such. “Another Statistic” is coming out with a new CD come June. A couple weeks ago Bryce & Klint had a couple real late nights working on a short film on “Another Statistic’s” Summer 2006 U.S. Tour for one of Bryce’s classes (final). Klint did a really good job of filming during tour and then editing. So I can’t wait for the real film, but I don’t know how long it will take since we just got all the right Apple programs to do the editing with!

Klint got back into his old hobby of fly fishing. Klint grew up going on fly fishing trips in Montana with his dad so he had all the gear. Recently Klint and his dad went a couple times; and then one Saturday while I was working I met him up Provo Canyon after work to have a picnic since he was up there fly fishing. It’s so funny to see him in all his gear. He is really knowledgeable on the subject we just never really talked about it before! I’ve just always seen his waders hanging up in the closet. Anyway, we played tennis for the first time in a long time since it finally got warm and I stopped being sick. And with my new racquet Klint gave me for Easter I actually played better! Klint has seen a rapid improvement in my game in just a few short weeks. Now I get excited to go play tennis! Other news, we went to see Klint’s sister, Kasi, run and finish the Salt Lake City Marathon on the 21st! Whoa! She did well too she ran it in approx 3 hours 40 minutes! (I never heard the official time, but she qualified for the Boston Marathon!) That’s crazy to me! I can barely run a mile let alone 26! Ha ha

Okay, so just to let you know Klint and I are doing great. We are getting used to living with each other and are more just casual. We usually just come home from work, eat dinner, and just hang out at home maybe watch a movie. But marriage is fun it’s so nice to be with your husband and just be together! I love when Klint tells me he just needs to be next to me or just hold me! It’s great, now I see why married people are so excited when others are getting married! I know, even though Bryce & Beth were only married a month before us, they were so excited for us to get married! It is fun; I love always being with my best friend! There’s not a day that goes by that he hasn’t made me laugh or even cry because I am laughing so hard! Hope all of you are doing well with many life changes and such. We love you!

Klint & Mary's Dec-Mar Family News

Hello family, we thought we’d finally tell you what we’ve been up to!

DECEMBER: You obviously all know that we got married on the 15th in the Salt Lake temple! (REQUEST: We still haven’t purchased our wedding photos, but if anyone has any wedding photos they took on the temple grounds and/or at our reception we would really appreciate them! I can even send you a blank CD-R for them if you need. I only have a few pictures from a friend and some from Aunt Karen. If you have pictures please let me know, thank you.) For our honeymoon we spent our first night at the Hines Mansion Bed & Breakfast in Provo, then off to Disneyland, then to Long Beach to start our voyage on our 7 night cruise down to the Mexican Riviera, then spent Christmas Eve in Hollywood and on Venice Beach. We arrived home late late that night and slept over at Klint’s parents house. We had a lovely Christmas (my apologies to those who had to watch the painful task of us opening all our wedding gifts. But we wanted to thank all you Egberts for your generous gifts! Our vacuum is amazing and we love our douvet cover we finally have a “classy” bed! Thank you.) On Christmas day I was able to talk to Bri on the phone for a few minutes (she’s on a mission in Manchester, England. We send tapes back and forth which is keeping me sane without my best (girl) friend!) Anyway, Klint and I have had a bit to get adjusted to with being married (at least I have!) Being married is so much fun though. JANUARY: We celebrated Klint’s 26th birthday by going down with the friends to St George so the boys could golf and the girls could hang out with our friend’s mom in Cedar City. On his actual birthday we went to Park City to celebrate our second anniversary of our first date. We went to the same restaurant and had the same server (we went last year too on our anniversary)! Our server, Juanito, from the Phillipines remembered us and when I told him our story and how we just got married he gave us our meal for free! We were “blessed” to talk in Sacrament meeting at our new ward in Pleasant Grove we spoke on “How faith in the Savior gives us hope for the coming year” Klint did a very good job! FEBRUARY: We were called as Sunday School teachers for the 12 and 13 year olds (all 22 of them!) We went bowling a bunch, and to some “Another Statistic” shows (Bryce’s band- Klint’s best friend & Bri’s cousin). For Valentine’s Day Klint surprised me with a mini trip to Honeyville’s “Crystal Hot Springs” lucky for us all the boy scouts were there! (he took me there last January too; it’s a fun place.) BTW still adjusting to marriage ha ha! But we’re having tons of fun together. Oh, Klint bought me snowshoes for Christmas, but we only got out a couple times up American Fork Canyon. It’s fun, but tiring. We also went snow camping up there as well. MARCH: We started playing tennis at our local park! We’ve been playing quite a bit. The warm weather is just too enticing! Klint is really good at tennis, so he’s had to re-teach me since I haven’t played in years, but we have so much fun playing together. I love when I surprise Klint with a good hit and he just stands there shocked! It’s great. Oh, FYI if you don’t have family names they won’t let you do baptisms for the dead at the Mount Timpanogas temple if you are endowed. Klint had never been so we were so excited to go…Shut down! Anyway, we had a great experience doing sealings though; the sealer was from Latvia so we couldn’t understand a word he said! I love the temple it’s such a wonderful place! We went down to St George for the boys to play golf, then down to Vegas with our friends to see “Another Statistic” play with another band “Push to Talk.” They played with them last summer on tour in Vegas and NYC. The band is really fun; Klint had brought home their CD after tour. It was a fun trip we stayed at our friend’s condo down there and hung out at the pool and had a BBQ. Oh, we are trying to sell Klint’s Toyota Tundra truck (2001, 62,000 miles, Silver, $16,500.) We love the truck, but Klint’s going to be quitting his job to go back to school full time at UVSC come fall. So if anyone knows anyone who’s interested let us know Mary’s cell: 735-6656. I guess we’d also be looking for an inexpensive car for Klint as replacement…thanks! Anyway, we’ve been having tons of fun, we have nothing to complain about, life is great! Hope all is well with everyone!.... P.S. If you want to add our email addresses: Klint's is grandpanature@hotmail.com & Mary's new one is marybrearton@gmail.com. Oh, and thanks to Scott and everyone who got this blogger thing going I think it's real cool!
